Throughout their four duals in the tournament, the Eagles used 25 different wrestlers showing their depth and commitment to wrestling as a team and helping gain valuable experience for everyone involved.

The Eagles next host the defending 5A state champions, Frisco Centennial, for a single dual on Wednesday night as they honor the seniors and their parents. Then they head to Yukon, Oklahoma for the last regular season tournament on Friday and Saturday.

Allen Wrestles "Lights Out" at The Woodlands

After a dominating performance in the 31-team tournament at The Woodlands, it was only fitting to have the last match of the tournament end in memorable fashion. In the first period of the heavyweight championship match, the power went out in the gym as Allen’s Nico Manzonelli faced John Bentley of Cinco Ranch. Improvising, the crowd circled the mat and created a cell phone spotlight for the final match of the tournament. Not long after, Manzonelli took Bentley down straight to his back and secured the fall putting an exclamation point on the record setting tournament victory for the Eagles.

At The Woodlands, the Allen Blue team broke their own scoring record for team points with 390 points, as they outscored the next closest team (Katy) by 193.5 points. Allen Blue had 11 finalists with 9 champions.
