Allen senior Bo Nickal's victory tour continues.
His victory tour off the mat, that is, after the National Wrestling Hall of Fame honored the three-time individual UIL state champion with the Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award on Tuesday.
Given annually to both state and regional recipients, the Schultz award recognizes some of the top male wrestlers in the United States. Over 800 athletes have been billed as such since the award's inception.
Nickal, who took home honors for Texas and the "Central Region" capped off his final year with the Eagles by winning the 170-pound division at the state tournament and helping Allen to its fifth state title.
He recently competed at the Dapper Dan Classic and Dream Team Classic, all-star tournaments in Pennsylvania and Georgia, respectively. Both times, Nickal helped Team USA win the dual meet format by winning his match.
The "West Region" and California recipient was Nick Nevills, who, alongside Nickal, is part of Penn State's 2014 wrestling recruiting class.
